Are you looking for a fulfilling way to help your community? The Bosham Monday Club(BMC) is looking for new trustees to lead the successful charity which is responsible for the social club and the Bosham minibus.

The Bosham Monday Club has been part of local community since 1966. We support people in Bosham and the surrounding area to remain connected, independent and involved in their community. At the heart of our work is the social club, providing friendship, activities, outings and a regular opportunity for people to come together. Our minibus supports the wider community.

You don’t need to know everything about trusteeship before you start. You do need to care about what the Monday Club does, and be willing to help take good care of it for the people who will need it in the future.

Looking forward to seeing everybody at Bosham Monday Club this new season. By the time you read this we will have had several meetings, after the summer break. We aim to be a welcoming hub to meet up with old friends , make new friends and enjoy good company. Also, this autumn, we are looking forward to some interesting music, talks and activities.

On Monday September 21st Christopher and Andrew Beaumont, son and father, play xylophone, glockenspiel ,percussion and piano. Christopher’s has links to astronomer Patrick Moore and Queen guitarist Brian May.

“Archie Entertains” for a second time, on November 2nd with a wide range of songs. His voice is fantastic.

December 14th the Havant Light Orchestra get us in the mood ,and encourage us to join in with a variety of Christmas songs .

Two talks scheduled are:
“ My life with cakes” from the Bosham Farmhouse Bakery on September 28th.
On November 16th we meet a puppy, training to be a Guide Dog ,and its trainer.

Other activities include board games, Bingo, crafts, Race Day and Body and Brain Exercises.

Lunches planned are:
“Fish and Chips at St Nicks “ on October 5th and November 9th, at an earlier time . Butlers of Bosham delivers piping hot. Wine, peas and dessert are also served.

Christmas Lunch at The Millstream Hotel. On December 7th. It is so generous of The Millstream to invite us and we so look forward to dressing glamorously for the occasion.

Bosham Monday Club is for locals of over 60 years,living independently in Bosham and the surrounding area . We meet normally by 2 o’clock at St Nicholas Hall, Brook Lane, North Bosham, PO18 8LA ,on Mondays.

Our activity year of 2025/2026 is coming to an end. We have enjoyed a range of activities during the year, lunches out, musical entertainment, games and quizzes, challenging our bodies and brains to exercises, talks, and of course meeting up with friends for lots of chat over tea and cake.

The summer session ended with a visit to Oakwood School Community Tea, where we are waited on by their Year 6 students and entertained by the younger children, starting with the Nursery Class.

Our final meeting was an end of year party down on Bosham Hoe, hosted by the Chair of the Bosham Monday Club Charity. We looked out across the Harbour, watching the boats and the birds, and looking at the views across to Bosham Church.

The volunteer team are now busy planning the activities for the Autumn Session which will start on Monday 7th September.

The Club welcomes new members who live in Bosham and the surrounding area. It is a social club for older people living independently, a chance to get out and meet friends and take part in some activities.

The Bosham Monday Club has ventured into some new activities this term. The first was to take advantage of the renovated garden area at St Nicholas Hall, which has three raised beds, and do some gardening. Two of our volunteer team brought in some young tomato plants, young peppers and chillies and these were ready to plant out. We also had some tiny sunflowers and courgettes which needed pricking out and planting on. We put these into our new little (plastic) green house. We also planted some lettuce seeds.  We will need to water regularly and weed them and hopefully we will have a bumper harvest.

Our second new activity was to have lunch at the hall, all set out with waitress service. Butlers provided us with some excellent  Fish and Chips which we served with all the accoutrements, followed by apple crumble with custard or ice cream - or both. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the doors of the hall were open to let in the sunshine. It was a very enjoyable afternoon, and members were keen that we keep “lunch at St Nicks” on the menu.

The programme for the rest of the term includes many of our usual activities - talks, quizzes, games, race day, the dreaded exercises, and some outings.

The Monday Club is a social club for older people living independently in the community in Bosham and the surrounding area.
